Cats vs Mice

Privacy Policy

Effective 4 October 2026

In short: Cats vs Mice does not collect, store on a server, share or sell any information about you. Your progress stays on your device, with a backup in your own iCloud or Google account if you use Game Center or Google Play Games. There is no account with us, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. If you use Game Center or Google Play Games, your scores and achievements go to Apple or Google so they can show leaderboards. The one optional purchase is handled by Apple or Google, not by us.

Who we are

Cats vs Mice is made by 18 Lives LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you play the game.

Information we collect

None. The game does not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts, photos or any other personal information, and it does not create an account with us. It does not need the internet to play, and it contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code, so we have nothing about you to collect, share or sell. The leaderboards and achievements described below are provided by Apple and Google, not by us.

What is stored on your device

To remember your progress, the game keeps a save file on your device. It holds game data only, such as:

Apart from the cloud backup described below, this file never leaves your device, and we cannot see it either way. You can erase it at any time with Settings & More → Reset Progress, and it is removed when you delete the app. If you back up your device (for example with iCloud), the save file may be included in that backup, which is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.

Reminders

If you choose to turn them on, the game can remind you about your daily streak, and send one reminder if you haven't played for a few days. These are local notifications: your device schedules and shows them itself, and no notification service, server or third party is involved. The game only asks for permission after you say you want reminders. You can turn them off in the game under Settings & More → Streak reminders, or in your device's settings for the app.

Leaderboards and achievements

On an iPhone or iPad the game uses Apple's Game Center, and on Android it uses Google Play Games, for leaderboards and achievements. If you are signed in to one of them, the game sends it:

These go to Apple or Google under your account with them, and they show them to you and, on the leaderboards, to other players, next to the name and picture you chose for that service. We do not receive, store or see any of it, and the game does not read your contacts, friends or any other information from these services. Apple and Google handle it under their own privacy policies, linked below.

You don't have to use them. The game plays the same without them, and your progress is still kept on your device. To stop, sign out of Game Center in your iPhone's Settings, or out of Google Play Games on your Android device.

Cloud saves

If you are signed in to Game Center on an iPhone or iPad, the game keeps a copy of your progress in your iCloud account. On Android, if you are signed in to Google Play Games, it keeps one in Google Play Games under your Google account. This lets your progress come back after you reinstall the game or move to a new device, and keeps two of your devices in step.

The copy holds the same game data as the save file on your device: rooms cleared, stars, achievements, statistics, daily results, and whether you own the Supporter Pack and which cosmetics you chose. It does not include your settings or any personal information. Apple or Google store it under their own privacy policies, and we cannot see it. Reset Progress clears the backup too. To stop backing up, sign out of Game Center or Google Play Games; your progress stays on your device.

Purchases

Cats vs Mice is free to play. The game offers one optional, one-time purchase, the Supporter Pack, which unlocks cosmetic items such as hats for your cats. It does not change how the game plays.

If you buy the Supporter Pack, the purchase is handled entirely by the store you downloaded the game from: Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see or receive your name, payment details, billing address or purchase history. The only thing the game learns from the store is whether the Supporter Pack is owned, yes or no. That answer is kept in the save file on your device so your cosmetics still work when you are offline. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.

How Apple and Google handle your payment information is covered by their own policies: Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.

Children

Cats vs Mice is suitable for players of all ages. Because the game collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13 either. Game Center and Google Play Games are run by Apple and Google, whose own settings for children and families apply to them.

Changes to this policy

If the game changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example by adding a feature that needs information it does not use today, we will update this page and its effective date before that version is released.
