How does the daily streak work?
Daily Level on the main menu has a new room every day, as hard as the end of the campaign. It opens once you have cleared room 15. Win it on the day and your streak grows by one. Miss a day and the streak starts again from zero.
The daily changes at the same moment everywhere in the world: 07:00 UTC, which is 3 am in New York and midnight in Los Angeles in summer (an hour earlier in winter). Everyone plays the same room on the same day.
Losing does not break the streak. There is no limit on attempts, so you can keep trying until the daily changes. A run you start before the change but win after it counts as a replay of the day before, so it does not add to the streak.
Can I play days I missed?
Yes. Open Awards, Stats & Streaks on the main menu and go to the Streak tab. Tap any past day on the calendar to play or replay it. Those wins are recorded on the calendar, but only a win on the day itself adds to the streak.
Why am I not getting streak reminders?
- Check the game: in Settings & More, Streak reminders should be On. If you said no when your phone first asked, switching it on takes you to your phone's settings so you can allow notifications there.
- Check your phone. On iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Cats vs Mice. On Android: Settings → Apps → Cats vs Mice → Notifications.
- Streak reminders come in the evening on days your streak is still waiting for a win, or a couple of hours before the daily changes if that comes sooner. Once the day's daily is won, there is nothing to remind you about until the next one.
Why did I get a notification when I don't have a streak?
If reminders are on and you haven't opened the game for three days, it sends one note to say the mice are back. Switching Streak reminders off in Settings & More stops both kinds of reminder.
Will I lose my progress if I delete the game?
Not if you are signed in to Game Center (iPhone and iPad) or Google Play Games (Android). The game backs your progress up there by itself, and when you reinstall it, or play on a new device signed in to the same account, your progress comes back after a few seconds. Settings & More shows when it was last backed up.
- Not showing up? Open Settings & More and tap Restore Progress & Purchases.
- Without Game Center or Google Play Games, progress is kept only on your device, and deleting the app deletes it. On iPhone, restoring a device backup (for example from iCloud) may bring it back.
- The Supporter Pack is never lost. It belongs to your Apple or Google account, and the game checks for it each time it starts. If it doesn't show up, tap Restore Progress & Purchases in Settings & More, or Restore Purchases in Cosmetics.
How do I start over?
Open Settings & More and choose Reset Progress at the bottom. The game asks three times before it deletes anything. A reset erases your stars, achievements, stats, runs in progress, streak and calendar history, Field Guide discoveries and earned hats, and it cannot be undone. If your progress is backed up to Game Center or Google Play Games, the backup is reset too. Your settings and the Supporter Pack are kept.
What are Cosmetics and the Supporter Pack?
Cosmetics on the main menu is where you dress up your cats: hats, defeat effects and map tints. They change how the game looks, never how it plays.
One is free: the Crown, for clearing room 25 of the campaign. The rest come with the Supporter Pack, a one-time purchase that helps fund the next game. Any cosmetics added later are free for pack owners.
- New phone, or reinstalled the game? Open Settings & More and tap Restore Progress & Purchases (or Restore Purchases in Cosmetics) while signed in to the Apple or Google account you bought it with.
- "Your purchase is pending": the pack unlocks as soon as the payment clears.
- "The store can't be reached right now": check your connection and try again.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. A refunded pack is removed from the game.
When does Chaos mode unlock?
After you clear room 5 of the campaign. Chaos is endless, and the waves keep getting harder the longer you last. Every fifth wave you are dealt three cards (one safe, one risky, one a gamble) and pick one, and every card you take stacks for the rest of the run.
How do I learn what beats each mouse?
Basics on the main menu covers how to play. The Field Guide has every mouse, mutation, cat and spell, with tips on how to counter each mouse.
Can I change the language or make the game easier to see?
Yes. Settings & More has a Language choice (English or Español; until you pick one, the game follows your phone's language), plus Large text, Colourblind mode and a Left-handed layout. You can also adjust sound, music, vibration and how many visual effects are shown.
Does the game collect my data?
No. There is no account with us, and no ads, analytics or tracking. If you use Game Center or Google Play Games, your scores, your achievements and a backup of your progress go to Apple or Google under your account with them. We never see any of it. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I delete my data?
Cats vs Mice, by 18 Lives LLC, keeps no data about you on any server of ours, so there is nothing for us to delete and nothing we hold on to. What the game does store, and how to delete each part:
- Your progress on your device (stars, achievements, statistics, runs, streak and calendar, Field Guide discoveries, earned hats): open Settings & More and tap Reset Progress. Deleting the app removes it completely.
- The backup of your progress in iCloud or Google Play Games: Reset Progress replaces it with the empty save. To remove it altogether on Android, open the Google Play Games app, go to your profile, then Settings → Delete Play Games account & data, and delete the data for Cats vs Mice. On iPhone, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage and delete the data for Cats vs Mice if it is listed.
- Leaderboard scores and achievements are kept by Apple or Google with your Game Center or Google Play Games account. Deleting the game's Play Games data (above) removes them on Android. For Game Center, Apple handles requests at privacy.apple.com.
- Your purchase of the Supporter Pack is recorded by Apple or Google, not by us, so that you can restore it. It is kept under their policies.
Anything you delete in the game is gone at once. Data held by Apple or Google is deleted on their own timetable, under their privacy policies. Questions: 18LivesLLC@gmail.com.
